Beijing International Trust Co. Ltd., with registered capital of RMB 1.4 billion, was previously known as Beijing International Trust and Investment Corporation Limited. It was incorporated in October 1984. In March 2000, it increased its registered capital and introduced new shareholders to diversify its ownership structure. In March 2002, it completed its re-registration as a trust company with approval from the People’s Bank of China. In Dec 2007, it completed a strategic restructuring and introduced a foreign investor in the shareholding structure. Under the requirement of new trust law and regulation, it renamed itself in the same year as Beijing International Trust Co. Ltd., and received its updated financial permit. Beijing International Trust Co. Ltd. now is a member of China Trustee Association and a council member of the Association.
Historic Moment for Beijing International Trust Co. Ltd. (BITIC)
On 5th October, 1984, BITIC was incorporated with approval from the Beijing Municipal Government and the People’s Bank of China.
In August 1992, it was BITIC that first opened trading business as agent for Shanghai Stock Exchange and Shenzhen Stock Exchange in Beijing.
On 22nd October, 1998, Beijing Venture Capital Investment Corporation Limited, a company invested by BITIC was established.
In 1998, BITIC actively helped Shunxin Modern Agriculture to prepare for it’s A-share IPO and in December 1998 Shunxin Modern Agriculture was successfully listed in Shenzhen Stock Exchange.
On 27th March, 1999, Beijing Lida Aquarium Co. Ltd., a key project in celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the People’s Republic of China, opened to the public and was designated as a scientific educational base for juveniles.
In March 2000, BITIC was approved by the Beijing Municipal Government and the People’s Bank of China to increase its registered capital and reform its ownership structure. Upon completion of this task BITIC was transformed into a limited liability trust company with registered capital of RMB 1.2 billion, and a diversified ownership structure was formed with the Beijing Municipal Government as majority shareholder and many other famous enterprises as it shareholders. Thereafter the name of Beijing International Trust and Investment Co. Ltd was used.
On 23rd Oct. 2001, the Beijing Municipal Government approved BITIC’s re-registration as a trust company.
On 7th March, 2002, the People’s Bank of China approved BITIC’s re-registration as a trust company.
On 9th September, 2002, BITIC launched a new trust product, land development for Central Business District (CBD) of Beijing. After its re-registration as a trust company, it raised public investment of RMB 600 million for this product.
In Nov. 2004, BITIC was elected as council member and Mr. Wang Xiaolong, President of BITIC, was elected as Vice Chairman of China Trustee Association.
In Dec. 2005, with the approval from the China Banking Regulatory Commission (CBRC), Sinopec Beijing Oil Products Company became a new shareholder of BITIC with new capital of RMB 200 million, hence the registered capital of BITIC was increased to RMB 1.4 billion.
On 22nd Nov. 2007, as approved by CBRC, BITIC renamed itself as Beijing International Trust Co. Ltd and accordingly received an updated business license and financial permit.
